Big Green Women Close Out Deacon Classic Play

Boston - Freshman Jesse Adler and junior Maggie Suydam paired up to win the lone match of the day as the No. 63 Dartmouth women's tennis team was downed 7-0 by No. 75 Boston University today at BU's Track & Tennis Center. The Big Green's record now stands at 8-5, while the Terriers improve to 9-4.

The tenacious Terriers are undefeated against Ivy opponents this spring, having already beaten Harvard, Columbia and Brown. Adler and Suydam defeated the tough team of Rebecca Rowe and Yana Sadovskaya 8-5 at No. 3 doubles, but BU ultimately captured the doubles point after a rally by junior Natalie O'Rourke and senior co-captain Lindsay Winingham at No. 2 fell short.

In singles, the Big Green struggled to find its games. Lindsay Winingham and freshman Carley Markovitz both nearly pushed their opponents to third sets, but were ultimately edged in straight sets.

The Big Green returns to action at Columbia this Friday at 2 p.m.
