Women's Tennis Falls to No. 51 Penn

Hanover, N.H. - The Dartmouth women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to No. 51 Penn this afternoon at the Boss Tennis Center and Gordon Pavilion.

The Big Green got a win at No. 2 doubles from senior co-captain Lindsay Winingham and freshman Jesse Adler, but that was the only win the Big Green was able to pick up against the Quakers. Penn remains undefeated in the Ivy League, while Dartmouth falls to 8-8 overall and 0-4 Ivy with the loss.

With Dartmouth down 2-0 in the doubles, Winingham and Adler battled back from a 7-2 deficit to take out the All-Ivy doubles team of Yulia Rivelis and Julia Koulbitskaya 8-7.

In singles, Zebroski squared off against Ekaterina Kosminskaya, a freshman who was ranked 24th in the ITF junior world singles rankings. After dropping the first set, Zebroski jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but was unable to build on that lead and fell 6-1, 6-3. At No. 2, Kerry Snow faced Rivelis, who was also an All-Ivy in singles last year, and lost in straight sets. At No. 3, Adler played a close match with Koulbitskaya, who was ranked No. 1 in the ETA and No. 37 in the nation as a junior player, but fell 6-3, 6-4. Winingham faced Lenka Snajdrova and lost in straight sets, while junior Jamie Caplan was downed at No. 5 by Charlotte Tansill, 6-4, 6-1. At No. 6, freshman Carley Markovitz battled hard against Lauren Sadaka who had been nationally-ranked No. 31 as a junior player, but ultimately fell 6-3, 7-5.
