Men's Tennis
vs Dartmouth Invite #1
4/7/2007 12:00:00 AM | Men's Tennis
The doubles is always a key point in any closely contested match and today's was no exception. The Green started the ball rolling with a solid victory at the No. 2 doubles spot as the team of Jeffrey Schechtman and Daniel Freeman blasted through its Big Red rivals, 8-5. Cornell's nationally ranked No. 1 doubles team of Brunner/Raff had tasted defeat in the fall at the hands of David Waslen and today Steven McGaughey and Waslen maintained their dominance with a hotly contested win to clinch the point.
The No. 1 Cornell player came out playing the best tennis of his four years vs. the Green and evened the score for the Big Red at 1-1. McGaughey played an almost flawless serving match winning his encounter at No. 5 singles, 6-3, 6-4 putting the Green up 2-1.
