Hanover, N.H. ? Dartmouth men's soccer coach
Jeff Cook is pleased to announce the hiring of
Johan Cedergren to his staff.
Cedergren graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 2001 and played for Coach Cook during his five-year stint with the Bearcats.
"We are delighted to have Johan joining our staff," said Cook. "He was an outstanding player at Cincinnati and I am very proud of his accomplishments since then. I look forward to all he will bring to Dartmouth soccer."
During his time at Cincinnati, Cedergren earned distinction as a three-year letter-winner and All-Conference USA selection. He was team captain and a key member of the team that advanced to the NCAA tournament in 1998 and was ranked in the National Top-20 in 1999.
After graduating, Coach Cedergren spent a year as an assistant coach at the University of Cincinnati prior to completing his MBA in finance at Xavier University. He has coached extensively with the Cincinnati Classics Soccer Club. He earned his Level One and Level Two coaching diplomas from the Swedish Football Federation.
Since 2001, Cedergren has worked as an investment banker in Cincinnati.
Cedergren is a native of Solvesborg, Sweden where he earned distinction as one of that country's most outstanding youth soccer players. He was selected as one of the 75 best players in the country to attend a Swedish Football Federation (SFF) sponsored high school. Cedergren attended Stagneliusskolan which is located in the city of Kalmar. During his three years there he was trained every morning by the best instructors within SFF.
Cedergran currently resides in Hanover with his wife, Julia, and 16-month-old son, Gavin.
Dartmouth, which has won seven Ivy League titles and made nine NCAA appearances, is coming off a 6-8-3 season.
