PRINCETON, N.J. ? Dartmouth senior strong safety Ian Wilson (Burbank, Calif.) was selected to the All-Ivy second team by the league's coaches on Monday evening. Three other Big Green players earned honorable mention ? sophomore wide receiver Tim McManus (St. Paul, Minn.), senior punter Brian Scullin (Alexandria, Va.) and senior running back Milan Williams (Mobile, Ala.)
Wilson played in nine of the 10 games, missing the final contest with an injury, and led the Dartmouth defense with 84 tackles on the season. His 9.3 tackles per game placed him second in the Ivy League and 26th nationally among FCS defenders. Three times he posted double digits in tackles for a game, including a season-high 13 against both Yale and Columbia. Wilson picked off two passes this season, both against Holy Cross and Walter Payton finalist Dominic Randolph. For his career, Wilson amassed 299 tackles to place 10th all-time at Dartmouth.
McManus enjoyed a fine season as the Big Green's leading receiver. He was fourth in the Ivy League with 6.0 catches a game and became just the fourth Dartmouth player ever to have at least 60 receptions in a season, ranking fifth on the all-time charts with exactly 60. McManus also ranked seventh in the league with 63.7 yards per game, and his total of 637 yards are the 16th most in a season at Dartmouth. With two seasons still to play, he already is 11th in career receptions with 88, and in the final game at Princeton became the 16th Big Green player to reach the 1,000-yard milestone.
Scullin ranked fourth in the Ivy League in punting average at 40.8 yards per punt with nine of at least 50 yards and 16 that pinned an opponent inside the 20. But his hang time separated him from everyone nationally as Dartmouth ranked first among FCS teams in net punting at 37.4 yards. Against Cornell he cranked a career-long 62-yard punt, while all four of his punts against Columbia ended up inside the 20. Scullin also completed his only pass of the season on a fake punt for six yards.
Williams enjoyed a fine career at Dartmouth, ending his four years with 1,332 yards on the ground, 17th all-time for the Big Green. With 319 carries, he had a solid 4.2 rushing average in his career with nine touchdowns. This year he was Dartmouth's leading rusher, nearly quadrupling the team's second-leading rusher. Williams also was fourth on the squad with 24 receptions for 170 yards.
