The home struck first with a power play strike from Colin
Greening at 11:55 in the opening period. The Big Green had given Cornell its
second power play chance of the frame when Greening slipped it past netminder

Cornell put another one on the board with a second power
play goal at 7:11 of the second. Michael Kennedy shot from behind the left side
of the net to Justin Krueger who was waiting on the right side circle. Krueger
blasted the one-timer over Devine's shoulder.
A third power play goal by Riley Nash and the home team
less than two minutes later gave Cornell an almost insurmountable 3-0 lead. Greening
put the capper on the period with his second goal at 2:47. The sophomore took
the puck away from a
Cornell got one past Grossman at 14:11 in the third as
Raymond Sawada went glove-side on the sophomore. Less than a minute later
Greening recorded his third as the hats went flying for the sophomore as the
Big Red went up, 6-0.
Will Boardman (
Grossman held off a swarming Cornell offense for the rest
of the period as he finished with seven saves. Devine had 15 while Scrivens
made 31 as the Big Green outshot the Big Red, 31-27.
