KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Former Dartmouth place kicker Nick Lowery '78 will be honored as the newest member of the Kansas City Chiefs Hall of Fame during this weekend's Chiefs Alumni Weekend. He is the 39th member to be inducted and will be recognized at halftime of Sunday's game against Dallas.
Lowery is the Chiefs' all-time leading scorer with 1,466 points and ranks second in both games played for Kansas City (212) and seasons played with the Chiefs (14). A three-time Pro Bowl selection, Lowery also holds Chiefs records with 329 field goals, 479 PAT conversions and 483 PAT attempts. He connected on 329 of 410 (80.2 percent) of his field goals and 99.3 percent of his PATs. Lowery also owns the three longest field goals made in Chiefs history, two coming from 58 yards. In 1990, Lowery set team records with 34 field goals and (combined with his 37 PATs) 139 points.
The only Chiefs player ever to play collegiately at Dartmouth enjoyed a 17-year NFL career and currently stands eighth in league history with 383 field goals and ninth in both PATs converted (562) and points (1,711).
At Dartmouth, Lowery was a two-time All-Ivy selection, booting 22-of-37 field goals and every one of his 51 PATs for 117 points, the sixth most for a kicker in Big Green history and 16th overall at Dartmouth. As a junior, Lowery did not miss a single kick all year, converting 8-of-8 field goals and 28-of-28 PATs.
