In Search of the First Win
• The start of the season has not been kind to the Big Green thus far as they have lost their first four games, their worst start in three years.
• Dartmouth needs just two victories to reach 1,200 in the program's history, which dates back to the 1900-01 season.
• The Big Green lost their home opener for the fourth straight year, falling to Loyola (Md.), 58-41. Dartmouth had a one-point lead with 12 minutes to play, but were outscored, 21-3, the rest of the way.
• Sophomore Josh Riddle became the fourth player in the four games to lead Dartmouth in scoring with a career-high 11 points. It was the third time this year he set a new personal best.
• Making his first career start was freshman Matt LaBove, and he responded with a season-high eight points in 23 minutes.
• Only six players scored against the Greyhounds for Dartmouth; at least 10 had scored in each of the first three contests.
• Sophomore point guard Jabari Trotter hit two three-pointers, the second coming at the buzzer at the end of the half from about 32 feet.
Series vs. Hartford
• This is the 13th game between the two schools, and Hartford owns an 8-4 lead in the series.
• It has been three years almost to the day since Dartmouth played the Hawks, which beat the Big Green on Nov. 25, 2006 at Hartford, 60-50.
• Dartmouth won the first four contests, but the Hawks have won the last eight straight.
• The first game took place 25 years ago on Nov. 24, 1984 as the Big Green won a barn-burner in overtime, 55-52.
• Only four of the 12 games have been played in Leede Arena with Dartmouth going 1-3 in those contests.
Scouting the Hawks
• The 2-3 record is a bit deceiving as Hartford has outscored its opponents by nearly six points per game.
• One of those three losses was a heart-breaking two-point defeat at Baylor of the Big 12. The Hawks led by as many as 12 in the second half and lost on a shot at the buzzer, 71-69.
• Most recently, Hartford suffered an 86-82 loss on the road at Lafayette this past Tuesday, despite shooting 53.1 percent for the game. The Hawks' undoing was hitting just 6-of-17 (.353) from the line and allowing the Leopards to shoot 61.4 percent from the floor.
• Five players do nearly all of the scoring for Hartford, and each of the five average in double figures, led by guard Joe Zeglinski at 16.4 ppg but followed closely by Joel Barkers at 16.0 ppg.
• Zeglinski is shooting 44.2 percent (19-of-43) from long range, while Morgan Sabia is just as accurate at 44.4 percent (12-of-27).
• Of the eight players on the roster that have made at least one shot, seven are shooting at least 44 percent from the floor, compared to just one for Dartmouth.
New Career Mark Every Night
In four games this year, sophomore Josh Riddle has set a new personal mark in scoring three times. First, he scored nine points in the opener, besting every game from his rookie campaign. At Furman, he scored 10 before tallying 11 in the home opener against Loyola. Is the answer for the Riddle tonight going to be 12?
Barnett in France
The 2009 Ivy League Player of the Year, Alex Barnett, graduated last spring and is now playing in France in the ProB League for Hermine Nantes Atlantique. In his first game with the team on Nov. 13, Barnett hit four three-pointers and scored a team-high 13 points in 28 minutes. Most recently, he tallied 11 in 24 minutes on Nov. 20.
