Durham, N.H. - The Dartmouth equestrian team finished third out of 11 teams at the University of New Hampshire show today and enjoyed a pair of first place finishes.
The Big Green finished just behind the University of Vermont and Mount Ida in a solid showing in its first event of the spring season.
Junior Samantha Parsons (Weston, Conn.) finished first in open jumping and sophomore Sarah Spangenburg (Atlanta, Ga.) took first in novice jumping.
The Big Green had a trio of second place finishes led by sophomore
Susanna Kurnick's (Penn Valley, Pa.) second place finish in the walk/trot cantor, which qualified her for regionals. Freshman
Cristina Herren (Chicago, Ill.) took second in intermediate jump and intermediate flat.
Erica Anhalt (Guilford, Conn.) finished third in novice jumping and Spangenburg took third in novice flat.
The Big Green is back in action next weekend at the University of Vermont show.
