Men's Tennis
vs Dartmouth Invite #1

3/28/2009 12:00:00 AM | Men's Tennis
SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Dartmouth men's tennis team concluded their spring trip on a positive note with a 5-2 win over San Diego on Friday.
Doubles pairs of junior Daniel Freeman (Chatsworth, Calif.) and sophomore Stephen Greif (San Antonio, Texas) and sophomore Curtis Roby (New York, N.Y.) and senior captain Ari Gayer (Hollis, N.Y.) took care of business winning their doubles matches and gave Dartmouth the important doubles point. On the spring trip, the Big Green won each doubles point in every match.
Up 1-0, it looked like Dartmouth was going to have an easy day, winning four first sets in the six matches. Junior Justin Tzou (Cupertino, Calif.) was the first to win his singles match followed by freshman Chris Ho (Los Altos, Calif.) putting the Green up 3-0.
In need of 1 more point to clinch the match, the Tritons rallied winning at No. 3 and No. 6 and pushing the No. 1 and No. 2 matches to third sets.
Freeman and Greif were not to be denied both winning their third sets and clinching the Big Green's 5-2 win over San Diego.
The next match will be in the friendly confines of the Boss/Gordon Tennis Center against Cornell on Friday, April 3 at 3 p.m. and Columbia on Saturday, April 4 at 2 p.m.
