PRINCETON, N.J. - The Dartmouth men's and women's track and field teams concluded their weekend at ECAC and IC4A Championships at Princeton today on the final day of competition.
Leading the way for the Big Green was Alexandra Tanner (Baltimore, Md.), who placed third overall in the finals of the 400 meter intermediate hurdles. Her time of 59.21 was an improvement from her time of 1:00 in the trials yesterday. With the mark, she set a qualifying time for NCAA regionals later this month.
Senior Emily Daly (Hopkinton, Mass.) was another top finisher for Dartmouth as she placed seventh in the shot put. She posted a toss of 13.86 meters (45-07.5). In the high jump, junior Sarah Klassen (Peterborough, Ont.) placed 11th overall, clearing the bar at 1.65 meters (5-05), while sophomore Jaclyn Wypler (Ridgewood, N.J.) took home 15th in the javelin after a mark of 39.15 (128-05).
On the men's side, the relay team of freshman John Turro (Katonah, N.Y.), freshman Brendan Norris (Beverly, Mass.), sophomore Dwayne Alexis (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and senior Trevor Middleton (New Orleans, La.) placed seventh in the 4 x 800 meter relay with a time of 7:38.41. Junior Ted Lesher (Upper Saddle River, N.J.) finished his weekend with a 17th place finish in the triple jump as he hit the pit at 14.33 meters (47-00.25).
The men finished 26th overall with 10 points, while the women brought home 17 points for the 17th position.
The teams will be back in action this coming weekend for the Twilight Meet at Bentley College on May 23, before getting ready for the NCAA regionals.
