Hanover, N.H.- The Dartmouth women's swimming and diving lost a dual meet to Boston University this afternoon at Karl Michael Pool, 154-88.
Boston University remained undefeated at 8-0 on the season, dropping Dartmouth to 0-6.
For the second straight day, sophomore Erica Serpico (Moorestown, N.J.) won both the one and three-meter diving events. Her score of 296.69 in the one-meter was a Karl Michael Pool record. She finished with a score of 284.40 in the three-meter. Teammate Kate O'Brien (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) was second in both events, scoring 243.32 in the one-meter and 254.24 in the three-meter.
Rookie Charlotte Williams (Boca Raton, Fla.) picked up her second win of the weekend with a victory in the 1000 free in 10:44.37. Sophomore Elizabeth Kamai (Corte Madera, Calif.) swam a season-best in the 100 free for a second-place finish in 54.35.
Dartmouth's other swimming victory came in the 200 backstroke, which Galen Barry (Wayne, Pa.) won in 2:10.20. She sprinted to win it in the last 50 yards by .90 seconds.
Freshman Caitlin Foley (Chesapeake, Va.) led Dartmouth with a third place finish in the 50 freestyle in 25.16 while classmate Isa Guardalabene (Albany, Calif.) was the top Dartmouth finisher in the 200 free, taking fourth in 1:58.43. Catherine Armstrong (Marietta, Ga.) was tops for the Big Green in the 500 free with a fourth-place finish in 5:22.75.
Junior Maddie Steiner took third in the 200 IM in 2:14.27 with Williams just behind her for fourth in 2:14.78. Classmate Virginia Selden (Birmingham, Ala.) took third in the 200 butterfly in 2:11.11. Caitlin Keenan (Encinitas, Calif.) took fourth in the 200 breaststroke in 2:29.98.
The 200 medley relay team of Carolyn Rippe (Colleyville, Texas), Keenan, Kelsey Pinson (Portland, Ore.) and Foley took third in 1:53.50. In the other relay, the 400 freestyle, Dartmouth's team of Foley, Guardalabene, Nicholson and Lindsay Wahl (Pittsford, N.Y.) took third in 3:43.65.
Dartmouth heads south next Saturday, Jan. 16 to face Yale and Penn in Philadelphia.
