PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The Dartmouth women's volleyball team played at Brown on Saturday and suffered its second straight loss. Brown improves to 8-16 overall and 2-10 in the conference.
In the first set, Dartmouth was in control with a 20-15 lead. Brown shifted the momentum in the match, and tied the set by winning eight of the next 11 points. With the score tied at 23, junior Kendall Houston (Austin, Texas) and freshman Elisa Scudder (Ashburn, Va.) blocked a Brown attack to give the team a 24-23 lead. Junior Madeline Baird (Austin, Texas) ended the set, 25-23, with a kill, but the momentum the Bears garnered with the run carried over to the next three sets.
With the score tied at six in the second, the Bears went on a 14-4 run to blow open the set, 20-10. Dartmouth couldn't mount a comeback and lost, 25-13. In the third set, Dartmouth and Brown went back and forth with the Bears eventually holding a 15-14 lead. The next 11 points didn't go how the Big Green planned.
