HOUSTON, Texas—College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the recipients of the CSC Academic All-District honors for volleyball on Tuesday. Three members of the Dartmouth Big Green earned the honor. Kauany Gutz, Maddie LaFata, and Sophia Gagnepain all received the honor for the Big Green.
Gutz appeared in all 24 matches for the Big Green while starting in 22 matches. The neuroscience major led the Big Green in multiple categories including kills, points, and total attacks. Her 242 kills placed her seventh in the Ivy League at the end of the season. On the defensive side, the Balneário Camboriú, Brazil native had 35 total blocks with five solo blocks. Following the season, Gutz was named All-Ivy Second Team and Academic All-Ivy.
LaFata notched 196 kills this season while playing in all 24 matches. She averaged 2.39 kills per set along with setting a new career high in digs with 100. The Fayetteville, Ark. native also set career highs in service aces with 10 and block assists with 37. The junior is set to return for her senior season in 2026, she enters the season with 559 career kills, 156 digs, and 91 blocks.
Gagnepain busted onto the scene this season as a sophomore, she played in all 24 matches and all 84 sets. The Wildwood, Mo. native led Dartmouth with 428 assists while averaging over five per set. Her 35 service aces also led Dartmouth. She finished third on the team with 190 digs, she also notched 55 points on 19 kills while also having two block assists.
In order to be eligible for CSC All-District a student-athlete much meet the criteria below:
Eligible nominees must compete in 90 percent of the institution's matches played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's matches. Liberos, although not counted in stats as a starter, may be counted as such for nominating purposes. An undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).
