Dartmouth (3-8, 0-6 Ivy) had four swimmers win multiple individual races with some strong showings despite the loss.
Sophomore John Hill had a great meet, victorious in both the 500 and 200 freestyles, taking the longer race in 4:44.24 and the 200 in 1:45.21. Zack Doherty was a close second in that race in 1:45.44.
Classmate Michael Ahern won both backstroke events, taking the 100 in 51.52 and the 200 in 1:53.04. Jack Driessen picked up points for Dartmouth with a third place finish in the 200 in 2:00.25.
Freshman Albert Roth won an exciting 200 IM in 1:54.37 and also took the 200 butterfly in 1:55.64. He was a last-minute switch into the 100 fly, which he nearly won in 50.95, .24 off the winning pace. Will Derdeyn and Ray Li finished third and fourth behind him.
Fellow rookie sprinter One June Chang won the 100 freestyle in 47.31, the 100 IM in 54.49 and took third in the 100 breaststroke in 1:00.37. Marco Chu and John Hill finished third and fourth in the 100 free behind Chang while Chu also took third in the 100 IM in 55.52.
In the other freestyle sprint, the 50 free, Dartmouth's Derdeyn and Doherty finished second (21.57) and third (21.83), respectively.
Dartmouth got a one-two finish for 15 late points in the 300 yard freestyle relay, but it was not enough to overcome the Lions. The team of Ben Reasons, Derdeyn, Doherty and Hill finished first in 2:19.99 while Ahern, Scott Sorensen, Jay Margherio and Roth were second in 2:21.99.
The 200 medley relay team of Ahern, Chang, Derdeyn and Doherty took second in 1:35.52, less than a second off the winning pace.
Dartmouth has three weeks to prepare for the 2010 Ivy Championships which will be contested at Princeton on March 4-6.
