HANOVER, NH – The Dartmouth women's track and field team wrapped up its indoor Ivy League season with a seventh-place finish at the 2010 Ivy League Indoor Heptagonal Championships.
Princeton won the Ivy League Indoor Championship with 125 points, beating out Columbia, who finished with 110 points. Dartmouth ended up seventh with 16 points, tied with Yale.
The top performances for the Big Green on Sunday came in the field events. Senior Sarah Klassen (Peterborough, Ont.) took fifth in the high jump, clearing the bar at 1.67 meters (5-05.75). Senior Kristin Kern (Franklin Lakes, N.Y.) and junior Jessica Robson (Newport Beach, Calif.) also jumped 1.67 meters, but ended up in the sixth spot. Junior Malina Simmers (Anchorage, Alaska) placed ninth in the triple jump with a mark of 11.69 (38-04.25).
In the track events, senior captain Natalie Stoll (Portland, Ore.) ran in the 400 meters and crossed the line in the ninth position with a time of 56.7 seconds. Sophomore Christina Supino (Windham, N.H.) competed in the 800 meters and finished seventh at 2:14.
The Big Green's 4 x 400 meter relay qualified for ECACs with a time of 3:52.31 and finished sixth in the event.
Dartmouth will be back in action next weekend in Boston at the ECAC Championships, beginning on Saturday.
