HANOVER, NH – The Dartmouth men's tennis team made quick work of Fairleigh Dickinson as the Big Green swept all matches and earned a 7-0 win at the Boss Tennis Center.
The team started strong, sweeping the doubles matches and earning the team point. Particularly impressive was the play of senior Daniel Freeman (Chatsworth, Calif.) and
Michael Laser (Glencoe, Ill.) at the No. 2 spot as they got out early and dominated in their 8-3 win.
In singles, Dartmouth's depth looked great with four players winning 6-0 sets. Junior captain
Curtis Roby (New York, N.Y.) brought home the best score with a 6-1, 6-0 score. At the top, Freeman was in form with a solid 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 1. Laser had to fight back from a 4-5 deficit to win his next 10 games and came away with a 7-5, 6-1, victory. Junior
Stephen Greif (San Antonio, Texas) knocked off a tough Sven Sjoerds in straight sets who has had recent wins over Brown, Stony Brook and Yale.
Dartmouth moves to 7-3 on the season. The next match for the Big Green will be at Point Loma Nazarene University in California on March 19 at 2:30 p.m.
