HANOVER, N.H. — Dartmouth College and Bucknell University have agreed to a home-and-home series on the gridiron beginning this fall as the Big Green will open up their
2010 football season on Sept. 18 against the Bison in Lewisburg, Pa. Bucknell will make the return trip to Hanover in the 2013 season.
Dartmouth had been scheduled to open up the 2010 campaign at Colgate, but the two schools came to a mutual agreement to forgo the contest. The Big Green will play the Raiders again in 2011 at Memorial Field on the Dartmouth campus.
This will be the first time the Big Green and Bucknell have squared off on the football field since the 1993 season when Dartmouth defeated the Bison in Lewisburg, 31-13. All told, Dartmouth is 4-1 all-time against Bucknell, winning games in 1963, '91, '92 and '93 with the lone loss coming in 1989. Big Green head coach
Buddy Teevens was on the sidelines for the games in 1989 and '91 during his first stint at Dartmouth, making him 1-1 against the Bison in his career.
Aside from the seven Ivy League games, Dartmouth will play its other two games at home against Sacred Heart on Sept. 25 and Holy Cross on Oct. 16.
