PRINCETON, NJ - Senior Laura Tabor (Portsmouth, N.H.) finished her Dartmouth career on a high note as she set the school record for the 3000-meter steeplechase at ECAC Championships over the weekend.
Tabor set the new record by five seconds with a time of 10:38.81, which was ahead of Sara Lewicke '04, who ran it in 10:43.33. Overall the Dartmouth track senior took 16th in the race on Friday.
In the 800 meters, sophomore Christina Supino (Windham, N.H.) ran a new personal best in the preliminaries and moved into third place all-time in the event at 2:09.33. Junior Alexandra Tanner (Baltimore, Md.) made the finals in the 400m hurdles and finished sixth, crossing the line at 1:00.24, while sophomore Amy Schuman (Lee, N.H.) took seventh in the 3000 meters, clocking in at 9:39.82.
Connecticut won the team title with a 105 points, while Columbia took second with 54 points. Dartmouth finished 39th with five points to its total.
On the men's side, freshman Brett Gilson (Richboro, Pa. ) had a good outing in the decathlon, placing eighth overall with 6285 points and earned Dartmouth its lone point during the weekend. His best point total came in the 400m dash with a time of 52.18 seconds to earn 717 points.
Senior Alex Lippai (West Mifflin, Pa.) posted a ninth-place finish in the hammer throw, finishing just outside the point-getters with a throw of 57.66 meters (189-02), while freshman Phil Royer (Portsmouth, R.I.) took 11th overall in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:01.12.
Connecticut also won the men's team title with 64 points as the Huskies completed the sweep. Liberty University was second with 55 points, while the Big Green was at the bottom, earning just one point.
