CLEMSON, S.C. - The No. 61 Dartmouth women's tennis team fell 7-0 to Clemson, the country's tenth-ranked team, in the opening round of the ITA Kickoff Weekend. The Big Green moves to 1-1 on the spring season, while the Tigers are now 6-0.

Molly Scott (Trabuco Cyn, Calif.), who is ranked No. 94 in the nation, fell 6-1, 6-4 at the top spot to No. 12 Josipa Bek. The junior from Croatia is 4-0 this season at No. 1 while Scott is 1-1. Freshman
Melissa Matsuoka (Newport Beach, Calif.) also played a nationally ranked opponent, losing 6-2, 6-0 to No. 48 Keri Wong at No. 2 singles. Scott and Matsuoka also played doubles against Bek and Wong, who are the country's second-ranked team. The Dartmouth duo fell 8-4 to the Tiger tandem. The No. 5 and 6 singles matches were shortened to 8-game pro sets once Clemson clinched the match.
Next up for the Big Green is No. 53 Marshall University on Sunday at 9 a.m. The Thundering Herd fell today to Vanderbilt University 4-0 in their opening match.
