MARSHALL, S.C. - The 61st-ranked Dartmouth women's tennis team fell 6-0 to 53rd-ranked Marshall in the consolation match of the ITA Kickoff Weekend. The Big Green moves to 1-2 for the spring season, while the Thundering Herd is now 4-1.
Senior tri-captain Molly Scott (Trabuco Cyn, Calif.), the country's 94th-ranked player, gave No. 27 Michaela Kissell all she could handle at the top singles spot, but Kissell prevailed 6-1, 4-6, 7-6. And freshman Melissa Matsuoka (Newport Beach, Calif.) battled back from a 5-0 deficit to take the first set 7-5 at No. 2 singles, but ultimately fell in three sets to Dominika Zaprazna.
Next up for the Big Green is a match at Boston University on Wednesday, February 9, at 3 p.m.
