HANOVER, N.H. — Following the first weekend of play, Dartmouth freshman
Jvonte Brooks (Santee, Calif.) was selected by the Ivy League as its co-Rookie of the Week along with Cornell's Shonn Miller.
Brooks, a 6-6 forward, hit every shot he took in a 62-56 loss at Rutgers on Friday, Nov. 11, hitting on a pair of field goals and all four of his free throws for eight points in his collegiate debut. The rookie came off the bench to play 29 minutes, grabbing two rebounds and dishing out a couple of assists as well. Six of his eight points came in the first half, after which the Big Green trailed by just one against the Scarlet Knights of the Big East. His two points in the second stanza came at the foul line with less than two minutes to play as Dartmouth whittled an eight-point deficit down to three with a minute remaining.
Dartmouth returns to the hardwood on Wednesday evening when it hosts Vermont (0-1) at Leede Arena at 7 p.m. Tickets are available through the Dartmouth ticket office at 603-646-2466 or online at DartmouthSports.com, where fans can also watch online with a subscription to Big Green Insider or listen for free to Dave Collins calling the action.
