PRINCETON, NJ — Dartmouth dropped a 4-3 decision to Brown on Friday in the first round of the ECAC Winter Championships. Dartmouth got off to a great start winning the doubles point 2-1 after senor tri-captain Molly Scott (Trabuco Cyn, Calif.) and freshman Melissa Matsuoka (Newport Beach, Calif.) won handily at No. 1 and senior tri-captains Ryan Reichel (Hilton Head Island, S.C.) and Georgiana Smyser (Houston, Texas) secured the point with a 9-7 victory at No. 2.
Brown went up 3-1 with straight set singles victories at numbers 3, 4, and 6. Scott scored Dartmouth's second point with a 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 1. Dartmouth was now down 3-2 with sophomore Sarah Leonard (Norwalk, Conn.) and freshman Sabrina Stewart (London, England) both entering the third set at No. 2 and No. 5.
