HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth women's tennis team won its fourth straight match Saturday defeating Binghamton, 6-1, at the Boss Tennis Center. Dartmouth is now 6-4 while the Bearcats, perennial America East Conference contenders, are 2-4.
The Big Green won the doubles points with victories from senior tri-captain Molly Scott (Trabuco Cyn, Valif.) and freshman Melissa Matsuoka (Newport Beach, Calif.) at No. 1 and sophomores Christina Danosi (New Albany, Ohio) and Jeri Reichel (Hilton Head Island, S.C) at No. 3.
In singles, senior tri-captain Ryan Reichel (Hilton Head Island, S.C.) was the first off the court, making quick work of her opponent at No. 3. Matsuoka clinched the next point for Dartmouth with a straight-set win at No. 2, followed quickly by senior tri-captain Georgiana Smyser (Houston, Texas) at No. 5, freshman Rachel Decker-Sadowski (Santa Barbara, Calif.) at No. 6, and Danosi at No. 4. Scott fell at No. 1 to Anna Edelman, who reached the final of the ITA Northeast Regional Championships last October.
Dartmouth returns to action at home on Sunday at 1 p.m. versus Boston College.
