COTO DE CAZA, CALIF. — The Dartmouth women's tennis team shutout the Bowdoin Polar Bears on Thursday, 7-0 in Coto de Caza, Calif. The win improved the Big Green to 7-5.
Dartmouth easily earned the doubles point by winning all three matches and only dropping five games in the three sets. Senior Molly Scott (Trabuco Cyn, Calif.) and freshman Melissa Matsuoka (Newport Beach, Calif.) swept their match in first doubles, 8-0.
In singles action, all six Big Green players won in straight sets to secure the victory. The only close match was in second singles. Sophomore Sarah Leonard (Norwalk, Conn.) took on Emily Lombardi, and won 6-4, 6-3.
Dartmouth will be in action again on Saturday against Cal State Northridge at 12:30 p.m. pacific time.
