NORTHRIDGE, Calif. — Senior tri-captains
Ryan Reichel (Hilton Head Island, S.C.) and
Georgiana Smyser (Houston, Texas) and sophomore
Christina Danosi (New Albany, Ohio) won in singles and doubles Saturday to help lead the Dartmouth women's tennis team to a 6-1 victory over Cal State Northridge. The Big Green improved to 8-5 while the Matadors, who Friday beat Columbia 5-2, fell to 10-8.
Smyser and Reichel paired up to win 8-4 at No. 2 doubles, while Danosi partnered with classmate
Jeri Reichel (Hilton Head Island, S.C.) to win 9-7 at No. 3 and clinch the doubles point for Dartmouth.
In singles, Danosi and Smyser were the first Big Green players off the court, winning their matches in straight sets at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively. Freshman
Melissa Matsuoka (Newport Beach, Calif.) clinched the victory for Dartmouth with a three-set win at third singles. Senior tri-captain
Molly Scott (Trabuco Cyn, Calif.) won a hard-fought match at No. 1, and it was followed by
Ryan Reichel who won 7-5 in the third at No. 4.
Dartmouth returns to action Sunday at the University of California Irvine at 11 a.m. pacific time.
