HANOVER, N.H. – The All-Ivy softball teams were released on Thursday and Dartmouth had four players land on one of the three teams. Leading the way was two-time All-Ivy honoree, Hillary Hubert, who earned her second straight award with a second team nod. Joining her was senior Audrey Kolodziej. Molly Khalil and Meghan Everett were both named honorable mention.
Hubert missed eight games in 2011 but still ended the season third on the team in batting with a .324 average. The 2010 Ivy Rookie of the Year continued to be a force in the league as she finished with a team-leading .415 average in Ivy games. She racked up 17 hits with three doubles and had a .962 fielding percentage. Hubert had 10 multiple-point games and recorded three hits in two different games. Against Sacred Heart she went 3-for-5 with one hit and then was 3-for-3 with three RBIs against Harvard.
Kolodziej, the Big Green's captain, appeared and started in all 39 games for Dartmouth, hitting .302 overall and .333 in Ivy games. She recorded 42 hits while racking up 16 RBIs. The award is Kolodziej's first postseason honor. She had 11 multiple-hit games and scored her best outings against Yale where she went 3-for-5 with three runs and then was 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI against Cornell.
Khalil was again the power hitter for the Big Green as she tallied six total home runs, five of them in the Ancient Eight. She recorded a .541 slugging percentage and a .414 on-base percentage and led the league in walks with 18 during league contests. Against Brown she was walked three times in one game but still plated three runs. During two days of doubleheaders against Yale she went 4-for-6 with two runs and three RBIs in the first two games and then was walked four times in the next two contests. With one swing of her bat against Brown she tallied four RBIs with a grand slam home run. The award is Khalil's second as she was named first team her freshman campaign.
Everett, a two-sport athlete for the Big Green, earned her first-ever All-Ivy award for either the softball or field hockey teams. She made 36 starts in left field for the Big Green and finished second in hitting with a .327 average. Everett was second on the team with seven doubles and racked up multiple hits in ten contests.
The Big Green finished with a 17-22 record, 10-10 in the Ivy League under first-year head coach Rachel Hanson. Dartmouth was in contention for the Ivy League's North Division title going into the final weekend of the season as the Big Green and Harvard squared off for the title and the chance to host the Ivy League championship.
