PRINCETON, N.J. — The Dartmouth women's track and field team competed at the ECAC's this weekend held at Princeton. The Big Green took 28th at the competition out of 53 teams with 10.25 points. Duke won the event with 73.75 points, Connecticut took second at 65 points and Virginia finished third with 61.5 points.
Senior Alexa Tanner (Baltimore, Md.) had the top performance for Dartmouth with a second-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles. Tanner finished at 58.89, only Ayla Smith of Virginia had a better time of 57.42.
The Big Green had three other athletes place in the top 10. In the 1,500 meters, freshman Arianna Vailas (Manchester, N.H.) crossed the finish line seventh at 4:27.67. In the high jump, freshman Janae Dunchack (North Cambria, Pa.) finished tied for eighth at 1.69 meters (5-06.50 feet). Freshman Katelyn Walker (Shaker Heights, Ohio) took ninth in the 3,000 meters at 9:4.21.
Dartmouth competes next Saturday at the Twilight Meet in Waltham, Mass.
