Women's Track & Field
at Jay Carisella Invite

HANOVER, N.H. - For the third week in a row, the Dartmouth's men's and women's indoor track & field teams will have a home meet at Leverone Field House. After the 2012 Dartmouth Relays and last week's quad meet, the Big Green will play host to Yale and Columbia in the third-straight home weekend to open the season.
In the previous two meets, both the men and women have come away the victors. The women won the Dartmouth Relays in convincing fashion in the first weekend of the year (144 points) before scoring 70 points last Saturday to finish ahead of Maine, Vermont and Rennselaer.
The men also claimed victories in the first two meets of the season, but in narrow fashion on both occasions. Edging out UMass-Lowell by seven (69-62) to take first at the season-opening Relays, the Big Green were tested again last weekend, earning a two-point win over second-place Vermont, 64-62.
Prior to Saturday's conventional home meet, the Dartmouth women will send five athletes to Cambridge for Friday's Harvard Challenge. The meet will consist of several multi-events for the Big Green.
In each of the last two weekends Dartmouth has had standout performances at Leverone. At the Dartmouth Relays, sophomore Megan Krumpoch (Shrewsbury, Mass.) won the 400 meters in 57.94, more than a second and a half faster than the second-place finisher. She also ran to a sixth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles and anchored the 4x400-meter relay team to a second-place showing. Those performances earned her DartmouthSports.com Female Athlete of the Week honors.
The following week saw fellow sophomore Dom Filiano (Lebanon, N.H.) awarded the DartmouthSports.com Male Athlete of the Week for his second-straight win in the shot put and a second-place finish in the weight throw at the quad meet.
Field Events for Saturday's meet start at 11 a.m. with track events scheduled to begin at noon.
