Big Green Back on the Road at Northeastern For Tuesday Matinee

The Dartmouth women's basketball team is back on the road for a Tuesday afternoon matinee at Northeastern. Tipoff is at 12 p.m. at Solomon Court.

Starting Five
1. Today's game is the conclusion of a two-game road swing for Dartmouth and is the second game for the Big Green in the last 72 hours. Dartmouth played at Albany on Saturday and will host Syracuse on Thursday ending a span of three games in six days.

2. The Big Green are looking to snap its current two-game slide. After winning its opener against Bryant (Nov. 10), Dartmouth has dropped contests to BYU (Nov. 13 and Albany (Nov. 24). This the second consecutive season the Big Green have opened the season 1-2.

3. This is the first meeting between Dartmouth and Northeastern since the 2010-11 season but will be the Big Green's first trip to the Huskies home court since the 2006-07 season. During that meeting, the Big Green claimed a 73-67 overtime victory.

4. Dartmouth has become road warriors and will continue to rule the road this month and into December. By the time the Big Green face Syracuse at home on Thursday (Nov. 29) they will have played three road games and following the Syracuse game will play four of its next five games away from Leede Arena. The lone home game before the annual Blue Sky Classic will be against Hartford on Dec. 9.

5. The Northeastern game is one of three non-conference games against regional foes. The Big Green will also take on New Hampshire (Dec. 5), and UMass (Jan. 6). Ironically, all of Dartmouth's games against said regional opponents will be on the road.

Dartmouth vs. Northeastern Notables
- Dartmouth and Northeastern will be meeting for the 13th time in Tuesday's contest. The Big Green lead the series, 7-5, and won the last meeting between the two teams in 2010-11. Dartmouth has won three of the last four meetings.

-Dartmouth is the lone Ivy League opponent on tap for the Huskies this season but the two teams do have some opponents in common. Both teams will face UMass, Holy Cross and Old Dominion. Additionally, Delaware is a possible Dartmouth opponent in the Blue Sky Classic.

-Northeastern and Dartmouth have a few roster connections. Northeastern's Kazzidy Stewart went to the same high school as Nicola Zimmer while Christine Huber attended the same school as Kamala Thompson.

A Win Would ...
1. Give Dartmouth head coach Chris Wielgus her 389th win at Dartmouth. She entered the 2012-13 season needing 13 wins to claim her 400th victory as head coach of the Big Green.

2. Snap the Big Green's two-game skid and move Dartmouth to .500 for the first time since Nov. 22, 2011.

3. Improve Dartmouth to 8-5 all-time against Northeastern and to 14-5 against Colonial Athletic Conference (CAA) foes. Of the 10 CAA teams, Dartmouth has winning records against Delaware, Drexel, Hofstra and Northeastern.

Scouting Northeastern
Northeastern enters Tuesday's game with a 2-2, 0-0 CAA record after defeating Boston University on Tuesday Nov. 20. The Huskies have also defeated LaSalle and have losses to Eastern Michigan and Temple, both road contests. Thursday's game will be just the second home game for the Huskies. Deanna Kerkhof leads the Northeastern offense and is averaging 17.3 points and 8.3 rebounds. Jewell Tunstall and Kashaia Cannon join Kerkhof in double figures with 13.5 and 11.8 points, respectively. Tunstall leads the Huskies on the glass, pulling down 8.5 rebounds per game and is one of three players averaging at least eight rebounds per game. Head coach Daynia La-Force is in her seventh season at the helm of the program.

We're Playing at What Time?
Tuesday's game is the earliest tipoff for a Big Green game this season. The 12 p.m. tipoff is a "School Kids Day" promotion for Northeastern. Prior to Tuesday's game the earliest game time was 1 p.m. in the opener at Bryant.
