HANOVER, N.H. - After two weeks away, the Dartmouth men's and women's indoor track & field teams will once again return to Boston University and the two-day Valentine Invitational. The Big Green throwers will head to Durham and UNH for a meet at the Paul Sweet Oval on Saturday afternoon.
The Big Green were in Boston at the Terrier Classic for the final meet of January before returning to Hanover for the non-scoring Dartmouth Indoor Classic last weekend.
Now, both the men and the women will head back to BU's Track and Tennis Center for two days of competition.
Like Dartmouth saw two weeks ago, this meet will feature the women on one day and the men on the following. Friday will see the women's meet begin at 2:30 p.m. and continue through the evening, while the men will get started on Saturday morning at 10:45 a.m.
Just a week ago, the women's DMR team ran an 11:05.67 Friday night to place second behind only Arkansas' 11:01.01 at the Collegiate Invitational at The Armory in New York City. That time was not only a program record, but also the fastest ever run by any Ivy League program in the event.
The previous program record for the DMR had been 11:16.02, set last season.
That mark was smashed by nearly 11 seconds as Alexi Pappas (Alameda, Calif.), Megan Krumpoch (Shrewsbury, Mass.), Christina Supino (Windham, N.H.) and Abbey D'Agostino (Topsfield, Mass.) combined to set the new Dartmouth record.
On the men's side a week ago, Connor Reilly (Niskayuna, N.Y.) was the top performer with a strong showing in the 60-meter dash. Reilly earned first place with a sub-seven-second time of 6.94, marking just the eighth time in Dartmouth history that a runner broke 7.00 in the race.
Reilly set the program record in the 60 meters with a 6.84 at last season's Heps Championships.
The thrower's meet at UNH is set for an 11:30 a.m. start time on Saturday in Durham.
