Women's Basketball Travels to Penn, Princeton

The Dartmouth women's basketball team hits the road for its second consecutive Ivy League road trip this weekend. Dartmouth opens at Penn on Friday night at 7 p.m. and closes the weekend against Princeton in its final "Play4Kay" game at 6 p.m. Saturday at Jadwin Gym.

3. The Big Green snapped a four-game losing streak with a win over Brown last Saturday. The win snapped Brown's three-game win streak and gave the Big Green a season-split with the Bears.

4. Milica Toskovic posted her first career double-double against Yale with 13 points and a career-high 11 rebounds. Toskovic's 11 rebounds is the ninth time this season a Dartmouth player has recorded double-figure rebounds.

5. Dartmouth is looking for season splits with both Penn and Princeton. Dartmouth has split the last two seasons with the Quakers and before that won four consecutive games. Dartmouth is looking to snap Princeton's current five game-winning streak and is looking for its first win at Princeton since 2008-09.

Dartmouth vs. Penn Notables
-Dartmouth and Penn are meeting for the 67th time in Friday's contest. The Big Green own a 42-24 series advantage but have won the last two meetings, including a thrilling, 73-63 overtime contest earlier this season. The Big Green is looking for their first win at the Palestra since the 2008-09 season.

-The Big Green and Quakers are jockeying for position in the Ivy League. Penn is just ahead of the Big Green in the standings and should Dartmouth win on Friday the teams will pull even in the standings, creating a tie for sixth place.

Dartmouth vs. Princeton Notables
-Dartmouth and Princeton are meeting for the 68th time in Saturday's game. The Big Green owns a 43-24 series advantage but has dropped its last five games to the Tigers. Saturday's game will be a matchup of teacher and student as Princeton head coach Courtney Banghart honed her skills at Dartmouth. Banghart spent four years as a player under Chris Wielgus and was an assistant coach from 2003-07. She was also a teammate of current Dartmouth assistant Erin Rewalt.

-Saturday's game at Princeton is Dartmouth's final "Play4Kay" game this season. Dartmouth celebrated its own "Play4Kay" game in the first meeting between these schools on Feb. 10 in Hanover, while Princeton will host its own "Play4Kay" game on Saturday.

A Win Would ...
1. Give Dartmouth back-to-back road wins for the second time this season. Dartmouth also won back-to-back road games against Colgate and Vermont. Entering the weekend, the Big Green has only won consecutive games on one occasion.

2. Give Dartmouth its third Ivy League road win and equal the Big Green's Ivy League win total from last season. Dartmouth's two Ivy League road wins mark the first time since 2009-10 that the Big Green have won multiple Ivy League road games. Dartmouth last won three road games in 2009-10 and won six Ivy League road games during their Ivy League Championship run in 2008-09.

3. Snap Dartmouth's five-game losing to Princeton and put a blemish on Princeton's perfect Ivy League record. Since former Dartmouth assistant Courtney Banghart took over at Princeton, Dartmouth is 4-5 against the Tigers and won the first four meetings between the teams after Banghart took over.

Scouting Penn
Penn (10-13, 3-6 Ivy League) enters the weekend after a split in road games at Cornell and Columbia. The Quakers dropped a heartbreaker, 45-42, to Cornell to open the weekend but rebounded with a 61-41 win at Columbia. Alyssa Baron was Penn's leading scorer in both games tallying 18 points in the loss at Cornell and rebounding with 25 points in the win at Columbia. The Quakers are 2-5 in their last seven contests and have played two overtime contests in that span, a 59-55, loss to Brown and a, 73-63, win in Hanover in the first meeting between the squads. Baron leads the Penn offense and is averaging 16.4 points per game as the lone Quaker in double figures. Freshman Kara Bonenberger is nearing double figures and is contributing 9.0 points per game. Senior Jess Knapp and Bonenberger are leading Penn on the glass. Bonenberger is pulling down 6.3 rebounds per game while Knapp is adding 6.0 rebounds per game. Dartmouth is looking for its fourth win at Penn in its last five tries. Head coach Mike McLaughlin is in his third season.

Scouting Princeton
Princeton (19-4, 9-0 Ivy League*) has a chance to clinch its third consecutive Ivy League Championship this weekend and has won 12 straight games entering weekend matches with the Big Green and Harvard. Princeton returns home for the first time in the last four games this weekend and will honor its seniors and host its annual "Pink Game" on Saturday. Niveen Rasheed and Lauren Edwards lead the Princeton offense and are averaging 16.6 and 10.7 points, respectively. Rasheed also is Princeton's top rebounder and is collecting 8.7 rebounds per game. Senior Devona Allgood is approaching double-figures with 9.7 points per game. Dartmouth is in search of its first win at Jadwin Gym since the 2008-09 season and is looking to avoid its sixth consecutive loss to the two-time defending Ivy League champion. Head coach Courtney Banghart is in her fifth season at Princeton after spending four seasons at Dartmouth, her alma mater. *Princeton will take on Harvard before playing Dartmouth on Saturday. All statistics are from prior to the Harvard game.

Steen, Toskovic Earn Spots on Ivy League Honor Roll
Junior guard Faziah Steen and freshman guard Milica Toskovic earned spots on the Ivy League honor roll this week for their efforts against Yale and Brown. Toskovic recorded her first career double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds against Yale, while Steen was Dartmouth's leading scorer in both games with 18 and 16 points, respectively. Steen also nailed the go-ahead three-pointer in Dartmouth's win at Brown, which snapped a four-game losing streak.

Milica Doubles Up at Yale
Milica Toskovic picked up her first career double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds against Yale, marking the sixth double-double of the season for the Big Green. Toskovic has been in double figures in eight games this season and her 11 rebounds was her first game with double figure rebounds, she has been close to double figure rebounds on two occasions recording nine rebounds. In addition to her double-double at Yale, Toskovic also set new career highs in steals with three against Brown while also tying her career-high in minutes with 36 minutes against the Bears.

Dosenko Moving Up the Career Blocks List
With her four blocks last weekend, senior forward Sasha Dosenko moved into sixth place on Dartmouth's all-time blocked shots list and now she has 121 career blocks. She is eight blocks away from moving into the top five all-time.

Steen Machine is Picking up Steam
Junior guard Faziah Steen has been quite effective on the offensive end of things this season. She is currently on a streak of 16 consecutive games in double figures and has been Dartmouth's leading scorer in 19 of 23 games this season. Steen has been in double figures in 29 of Dartmouth's last 33 games dating back to last season. In each of Dartmouth's Ivy League weekends (only including true Ivy League weekends with back-to-back contests), Steen is averaging 31.4 points per weekend. Additionally, the lowest point total Steen has been held to in Ivy League action is 10 points against Princeton.

Approaching 1,000
Faziah Steen is racing up Dartmouth's all-time scoring charts and with her 34 points last weekend moved into the No .18 spot on the Big Green's all-time scoring charts with 955 points. Steen is now just 45 points away from becoming Dartmouth's 16th 1,000-point scorer. She needs to just average 9.0 points per game the rest of the season to hit the milestone. Steen entered the season with an 11.2 career scoring average and has scored over 200 points in each of her seasons at Dartmouth. She currently has 362 points on the season for her highest scoring season to date.
