Home Cooking: The Dartmouth men's soccer team will begin a string of four home games on Tuesday beginning with Central Connecticut St., followed by Yale on Saturday.
All-Time Series vs. CCSU: Tuesday evening's contest against the Blue Devils will be the first meeting between the two schools separated by two and a half hours on I-91. However, this is not the first time this season that an athletic team from New Britain, Conn., has made a trip to the Upper Valley. The Dartmouth football team defeated CCSU, 35-25, on Sept. 20.
Scouting CCSU: The Blue Devils are 4-4 this season and will begin Northeast Conference play at Long Island over the weekend. Dartmouth and Central Connecticut have three common foes in 2014 (UMass Lowell, Yale and Vermont). Filosmar Cordeiro and Keir Hannity are tied for the team lead with four points. In eight games this season, the Blue Devils have scored nine goals, while allowing 13 against. Josef Abele and Nick Velleca have split time in the cage this season, with Abele playing in six contests. Head Coach Shaun Green, is in his 30th year with the Blue Devils.
All-Time Series vs. Yale: Yale holds a 39-32-6 record over the Big Green. Last season, the Bulldogs defeated the Big Green, 1-0 (2OT). Since the 2000 season, the Big Green are 9-5 against Yale. The first game recorded against Yale was in 1924, a 3-0 win for the Bulldogs.
Scouting Yale: Through nine games, Yale has yet to pick up a win (0-7-2), but have not allowed more than three goals and have had seven one-goal contests. Four players have recorded two points and of the three goals scored on the season, no Bulldog has scored multiple times.
Sweep Ivy Weekly Honors: Freshman Matt Danilack was named this week's Ivy League Men's Soccer Player and Rookie of the Week after he scored a goal against Vermont and the game-winner at Princeton on Saturday.
Inside Men's Soccer: Catch weekly interviews with head coach Chad Riley on the Ivy League Digital Network. The feature will review the previous games and preview the upcoming games for the Big Green.
Follow Along: For the second year the Ivy League Digital Network will broadcast all eight Big Green home games, along with select Ivy League road matches. Peter Graves returns for his second season calling the action. Fans can also follow along with live stats on DartmouthSports.com.
Up Next: The Big Green will host Yale on Saturday afternoon. Dartmouth remains in Hanover next week for games against Boston U. and Penn.
