HANOVER, N.H. – Saturday's Dartmouth Classic inside Leverone Field House marked the third home meet of the season for the women's track & field team during the 2013-14 campaign.
The Big Green went 1-2 in the finals of the 60m with sophomores Kaitlin Whitehorn (7.70) and Anna Kikut (7.95) posting the event's two fastest times. Lauren Ready won the final of the 60m hurdles, crossing the line in 9.12.
The team in Green also saw the 200m races go 1-2 in their favor as Katy Sprout (26.32) and Whitehorn (26.33) were impressive in claiming the first two positions on the leaderboard.
Sophomore Elizabeth Markowitz also took home the top spot in an event, winning the 1000m with relative ease, as her 2:56.08 was four seconds better than the second-place finisher.
Another event in which the Big Green took home the top two spots was the shot put. Senior Emmaline Berg bested the field with a 44-4.0/13.51m, while freshman Melissa Dunham was second with a 43-2.50/13.17m to her credit.
In the pole vault, sophomore Stephanie Brown's third attempt at 11-9.75/3.60m proved to be the day's best mark as no other competitor even attempted the height.
Both the men and women's teams will be in Boston next weekend, competing at BU's Valentine Invitational Friday and Saturday.
