In the Big Green's lone event of the day, the 4x1500m relay team put on a record-setting effort in front of the tens of thousands of spectators packed into the old stadium.
The quartet of Abby Markowitz, Dana Giordano, Meggie Donovan and Abbey D'Agostino combined to run a 17:20:87 to set not only a new Dartmouth record, but an Ivy League and New England record as well.
The old program mark of 17:44.95 was set two years ago, while the New England standard of 17:22.30 was set by Providence on the same Franklin Field track in 1991 and was a then-world record time.
Running the anchor, D'Agostino put on an unbelievable showing to help the Green and White take third in the event. The senior and 12-time All-American ran an incredible 4:08 in her portion of the race, a time that would have shattered her own record in the 1500m by nearly four seconds.
Giordano's 4:16.4 split would rank as the fourth-fastest time in an individual 1500m race in Dartmouth history as well, demonstrating the team's strong collective showing Friday afternoon.
Villanova (17:16.52) and Stanford (17:16.74) were first and second, respectively.
SPLITS: Markowitz (4:27.4), Giordano (4:16.4), Donovan (4:29.1), D'Agostino (4:08.0).
