Northeast Credit Union Athletes of the Week - Ottenbreit & Gillis

Liquid water or frozen water, same result for Big Green athletes competing this winter. From the diving board, junior Brett Gillis won the three-meter competition against Yale and Penn last weekend. On the ice, sophomore Kennedy Ottenbreit scored all three of Dartmouth's goals in a 3-0 victory over RPI.

Their efforts are rewarded by being named the Northeast Credit Union Athletes of the Week.

Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Northeast Credit Union Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.

Kennedy Ottenbreit, So., Grayson, Saskatchewan, F, Women's Hockey

Ottenbreit had a strong weekend on the road, scoring four goals in two games. In the 3-0 shutout of RPI on Friday, she scored her first career hat trick, pocketing the first of the game with 17 seconds remaining in the first period and tacking on two more in the final stanza. In the 3-1 victory over Union the following afternoon, the sophomore netted the eventual game winner three minutes after the Dutchwomen scored their lone goal that tied the score at one. Ottenbreit now leads the team with 18 points (9G, 9A).

Brett Gillis, Jr., Kitchner, Ontario, Diver

In the men's swimming and diving tri-Ivy meet against Yale and Penn on Saturday, junior Brett Gillis finished in first place on the 3-meter board with a score of 344.85 and was second on 1-meter with a 292.45.
