Women's Squash Announces Class of 2019 Recruits

HANOVER, N.H. — Fresh off a pair of neutral-site wins last weekend at Yale, the seventh-ranked Dartmouth Squash team defeated Bates, 7-2, on Sunday afternoon at the Berry Squash Courts.

The women started strongly winning the first round of matches. Sophomore Hanna Balcha and junior Lydie McKenzie won their respective matches 3-0. Freshman Zainab Molani regrouped after trailing two to one and won in five games.

Senior Sarah Caughey and sophomore Madeline Fraser both won their matches in three straight games, with Fraser capturing the third game, 11-0. The wins gave Dartmouth the five matches needed to secure the overall match. Junior Tori Dewey had a hard-hitting match losing in four games.

The final round of matches saw two more wins for Dartmouth as freshman Rebecca Brownell displayed a strong performance winning a quick three games. Senior Helena Darling had a closer match and needed four games to get the win. Sophomore Jacqueline Barnes lost in three games after a very competitive first game against a strong opponent.

Freshman Caroline Canning won the exhibition match in three games.

Dartmouth will host Columbia and Cornell next weekend.
