SATURDAY'S GAME
The Dartmouth women's soccer team travels to Cambridge, Massachusetts. to take on Ivy League foe Harvard at Jordan Field at 1:30 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green are coming off a 2-1 loss to Columbia at home last Saturday. After falling behind, 2-0, Dartmouth settled in and dictated play for the rest of the game. The Green managed to score around the 78th minute when senior forward Lucielle Kozlov headed in a pass from defender Jackie Friedman for Dartmouth's only goal of the night. The Big Green had a few more scoring opportunities toward the end of the game, but could not find the back of the net. Netminder Casey Cousineau finished the evening with two saves.
SCOUTING THE CRIMSON
Harvard is in a race for first place in the Ivy League with Princeton. The Tigers sit atop the conference standings at 5-0 with the Crimson right behind them at 4-1. Harvard had a five-game win streak snapped by Princeton last weekend in a 2-1 loss at home. In that stretch, the Crimson out scored their opponents 11-1. Forward Margaret Purce leads the team in goals with eight and is second among the Ancient Eight programs with 19 shots. The junior is also eigth in the NCAA with 5.21 shots per game.
LAST TIME AGAINST HARVARD
On Nov. 1, 2014, Dartmouth took down Harvard, 2-0, at Burnham Field, thanks in part to a two-goal game from forward Corey Delaney. Her first goal came in the 17th minute when Harvard goalie Cheta Emba misplayed the ball, allowing Delaney to bury a shot into an empty net. She added a second goal in the 50th minute after recovering a Crimson turnover and firing a shot to the right post.
SENIOR LEADERSHIP
The Big Green have been getting a lot of production from Kozlov and Friedman. Kozlov's goal on Saturday against Columbia was her team-leading 10th of the season. Although Friedman has not found the back of the net this season, she has been a key player on the offensive side of the ball. Friedman leads the team in shots on goal with 19 and has four assists in 14 games.
FINISHING STRONG
Dartmouth has been red hot in the second half of games this season. Of the 31 goals scored by the Big Green, 24 of them have come in the second half. Dartmouth's opponents have only scored 10 goals overall.
