Men's Tennis
vs Dartmouth Invite #1

11/11/2015 9:37:00 AM | Men's Tennis, Women's Tennis
HANOVER, N.H. – Senior Dovydas Sakinis, junior Taylor Ng and sophomore Kristina Mathis will compete at the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championship.
Hosted by Columbia, the event will take place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York, from Nov. 12-15.
The championship serves as the culmination of the fall season and will feature a 32-player singles draw and a 20-team doubles draw for men and women.
All three Big Green players earned automatic entry into the tournament by way of winning their respective regional championships that took place at the end of last month.
Sakinis became Dartmouth's first singles winner since Matt Semler in 1992 by defeating Columbia's Victor Pham for the title. Ng and Mathis had the advantage of playing on home court and defeated Penn in three sets to take the match. This is the first time in Dartmouth women's tennis history that a player -- let alone two -- has qualified for this event.
At 12 p.m. on Thursday, Sakinis will play No. 4 seed Arthur Rinderknech of Texas A&M. Then, at 1 p.m., Ng and Mathis will play the Small College champions, Diana Bogolli and Rosalie Willig of Lynn.
