Women's Track & Field
at Ken O’Brien Pre-Conference Invitational

HANOVER, N.H. – It won't be as crowded this year as it has been in the recent past, but there will be a Dartmouth representative at the 2015 NCAA Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship this weekend.
Dana Giordano will run the 3000m at Arkansas' Randal Tyson Center in Fayetteville. The race will take place Saturday night at 9 p.m. ET.
The Dartmouth junior qualified for nationals on the strength of a 9:07.28 at BU's Terrier Invitational on Jan. 30 in Boston. The time not only was the 13th-best mark in the country this season, but was also a PR for the Bernardsville, New Jersey, native, besting her previous mark by more than nine seconds.
Giordano has championship experience at this distance, winning the 2015 Ivy League Heptagonal Championship in the 3000m for the second straight year during the final weekend of February. She would also add an individual Heps title in the mile and anchor the Big Green's second-place DMR team at Harvard's Gordon Track.
A two-time veteran of the NCAA Championship meet in cross country and a participant in the outdoor 5000m in Eugene last spring, this will mark Giordano's second trip to the indoor championship meet. As a sophomore last season, she was a part of Dartmouth's eighth-place DMR team, running the anchor and helping the Big Green to an 11:18.60, a team point and All-America honors.
The Marjorie and Herbert Chase '30 Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Barry Harwick '77 will be accompanying Giordano over the weekend with Courtney Jaworski unable to attend.
Those looking to watch Giordano or the entire meet can do so live online on ESPN3 each day starting at 7 p.m. ET. The meet will be rebroadcast on ESPNU Sunday, Mar. 22 beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET.
