NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – The No. 29 Dartmouth women's tennis team was upended by California State University, Northridge, 4-3, at Matador Tennis Complex on Wednesday.
The Green is now 13-2 on the season, while the Matadors improved to 11-2.
CSUN opened the match by winning two of the three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead. At the No. 1 position, sophomore Taylor Ng and junior Jacqueline Crawford played together for just the second time this season, defeating Mickey Hsu and Kristen Poei, 8-4.
Dartmouth took the lead by winning three singles matches in a row. Ng had a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Hsu at No. 1 and Crawford defeated Criss Rodriguez, 6-1, 6-4, at No. 3. At No. 2, junior Katherine Yau had a 6-1, 7-5 defeat of Vivian Lin right when CSUN picked up a win at No. 4, leaving the Green with a 3-2 edge. The Matadors then went on to win the remaining two doubles points to take the match.
On Saturday, March 28, Dartmouth will make a quick stop in Texas to play No. 39 Houston. This will be the Green's final non-conference match of the season.
