HANOVER, N.H. — College Sports Madness (CSM) announced its
2015 All-Ivy League Preseason Football Teams today, and Dartmouth dominated the first team with nine Big Green players taking 10 of the 28 positions, twice as many as any other school. In addition, quarterback
Dalyn Williams (6-0, 210) and linebacker
Will McNamara (6-0, 230) were selected as the Preseason Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, respectively.
Joining that duo on the first team were seven other seniors —
Troy Donahue (6-0, 195) and
Vernon Harris (6-2, 195) at defensive back,
Cody Fulleton (6-3, 265) and
A.J. Zuttah (6-2, 285) on the defensive line,
Jacob Flores (6-4, 290) on the offensive line,
Zach Slafsky (6-2, 245) at linebacker and
Ryan McManus (5-11, 195) at both wide receiver and punt returner.
Six of those nine were named to the All-Ivy League First Team by the coaches at the end of the 2014 season, while Flores and Fulleton were second-team performers, and Slafsky earned honorable mention.
Senior running back
Kyle Bramble (5-11, 205), senior wide receiver
Victor Williams and junior placekicker
Alex Gakenheimer were selected for the CSM second team, and four others — senior defensive back
Chai Reece (5-10, 180), junior punter
Ben Kepley (6-2, 185), offensive lineman
Dave Morrison (6-5, 300) and junior linebacker
Folarin Orimolade (5-11, 240) — garnered spots on the third team.
In all, the Big Green boasted 16 players honored at 17 positions, besting defending conference champion Harvard by one position.
Dartmouth, which finished one game behind the Crimson in the 2014 final standings with a 6-1 record and an 8-2 mark overall, will attempt to add to its conference-record 17 Ivy League titles this year. The season begins on Sept. 19 at Georgetown with kickoff scheduled for noon.
