HANOVER, N.H. – For the second weekend in a row, the Dartmouth women's indoor track & field team came away with a home meet victory at Leverone Fieldhouse.
On Saturday afternoon, the Big Green cruised to a first-place showing against Maine (52) and Vermont (35), finishing the day with 87 team points.
As the men had, the Dartmouth women boasted 10 individual event wins in their home facility. However, the women bested that figure by also winning a relay, taking the top spot in the 4x400m (4:00.34) in the final event of the afternoon.
The Green and White were dominant on the oval throughout, claiming home wins in the 60m (Kaitlin Whitehorn, 7.66), 800m (Maria Jarostchuk, 2:17.46), mile (Elizabeth Markowitz, 5:03.80) and 3000m (Reid Watson, 9:51.21).
Jennifer Meech was a two-event winner, taking the top spot in both the 200m (24.81) and 500m (1:14.95), respectively.
In the field events, freshman Maria Garman claimed first in the high jump (5-5.00/1.65m), while Amelia Ali was the top individual in both the shot put (38-7.00/11.76m) and weight throw (52-1.0/15.87m).
In all, Dartmouth had 29 individual top-five event finishes on the day and two in relay races.
The Big Green continues their stretch of home meets next Saturday when they welcome Yale and Columbia to Leverone starting at 11 a.m.
