Taking it to Hart(ford)
• Having started the season with eight straight defeats for the first time in 39 years, Dartmouth will try to get its first win under first-year head coach David McLaughlin at Hartford on Tuesday night.
• This is the Big Green's third straight game against an America East school and third of four this year.
• The Big Green came close to ending their skid on Saturday, leading Maine by a point with less than a minute to play at Leede Arena. But the Black Bears scored the final six points to steal the win, 73-68.
• Evan Boudreaux recorded his second straight double-double and fourth of the season with 19 points and a season-high 12 rebounds in the loss.
• Joining Boudreaux in double figures were Guilien Smith with 12 points and Miles Wright with 10. The three are Dartmouth's top three scorers with Boudreaux second in the Ivy League at 17.3 ppg.
• The Big Green had eerily similar shooting totals in the two halves, attempting 27 field goals while going 3-of-10 on three-pointers and 9-of-13 at the line in each.
• Dartmouth collected a season-high 39 rebounds against Maine as seven players either matched or exceeded their season highs on the glass.
Series vs. Hartford
• Dartmouth has taken on the Hawks 17 times on the hardwood and is 7-10 in the series that began in 1984 with the first game Hartford played at the Division I level, a 55-52 Big Green win in overtime.
• Last year the Big Green put up 50 points after halftime to defeat Hartford, 74-65, despite 12 three-pointers by the visiting Hawks.
• Brendan McDonnell came off the bench to score 17, while Connor Boehm, Miles Wright and Cameron Smith also scored in double figures.
• Dartmouth is 4-6 on the road against Hartford, but just 1-6 at Chase Arena since it opened in 1990. The lone win came in 2010, 71-57, as current assistant coach Jabari Trotter scored a career-high 24 points.
• Dartmouth is 116-108 against current America East schools with most of those games coming against UNH (32-34) and Vermont (57-44).
Scouting the Hawks
• Hartford has won two of its last three games, including a last-second, 65-63 triumph at Boston College on Friday, after dropping seven straight.
• The Hawks won their season opener at home against Niagara, but have dropped three in a row at Chase Arena since.
• Guard Jalen Ross leads Hartford with 20.8 ppg and ranks in the top 40 nationally, thanks in part to his 40.5 percent shooting from distance and 85.9 percent at the foul line.
• Fellow guard Jason Dunne makes for a nice 1-2 punch with his 15.0 ppg.
• As a team the Hawks shoot close to 40 percent on three-pointers, and anyone with at least three triples is topping 40 percent, led by J.R. Lynch at 53.3 percent (16-of-30).
• Rebounding and turnovers have been a problem as Hartford ranks among the bottom 15 nationally in rebound margin and bottom 50 in the latter.
• Dunne has been the team's top rebounder at 5.2 per game, and although 6-10, 280-pound center Hassan Attia has played in just the last five games, he leads the Hawks with 15 blocks.
• John Gallagher (St. Joseph's '99) is in his seventh season at the helm of the Hawks with an 82-119 record to date. The 2012-13 America East Coach of the Year led Hartford to its only Division I postseason berth that year in the CIT and had his best finish in the conference standings the following year in third place at 10-6.

Skid Reaches Eight
The 73-68 loss to Maine extended Dartmouth's season-opening skid to eight games, its longest to start a season in 39 years. The 1977-78 squad dropped its first eight before getting off the schneid against Amherst. Good news for Big Green fans about that ignominious start is that Dartmouth went on to win 10 games.
Boudreaux Boudreaux Golly
Double the name for Evan Boudreaux double-doubles. The sophomore posted 19 points and 12 rebounds to record his second straight double-double, fourth of the season and 14th of his career. His 10 last year were the most by a Dartmouth player in 23 years, and the most in a career over the last 25 years is 21 by Ian McGinnis '01. In addition, his 12 rebounds marked the 20th straight game and 29th in 35 in which he has led the team on the glass.
Evan Almighty
After earning the Ivy League Rookie of the Year and a spot on the USBWA All-District I Team last year, Evan Boudreaux is putting together quite the sequel thus far. The 6-8 forward has led the team in both scoring and rebounding in each of the first eight contests, while his 12 boards versus Maine marked a season high. He enters this game leading the league in rebounding at 9.1 ppg and second in scoring at 17.3 ppg.
Board Scores
Dartmouth's rebound margin of -2.6 might be last in the Ivy League, but the team has shown improvement on the glass by outrebounding its opponent in two of the last three games. First the Green had 33 caroms at Boston College, which managed just 27, then this past Saturday had a season-high 39 boards compared to 34 for Maine.
Getting Guilien With It
Sophomore Guilien Smith, after scoring in double figures in his first four games, had failed to get at least 10 in each of the next three. Against Maine he finally topped the figure with 12 points, plus added a career-high six rebounds.
Two-Bear Wrecking Crew
In Dartmouth's 73-68 loss to Maine, two Black Bears combined to score 54 points, with Wes Myers leading the way with 31. It was the most points by an opponent since Cornell's Matt Morgan poured in 32 last January. The last Big Green player to top 30 was Miles Wright when he tied the Leede Arena record with 39 against LIU Brooklyn in November of 2015.
