Kaitlin Whitehorn Punches Ticket to Nationals in High Jump

HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth senior Kaitlin Whitehorn is headed to the 2016 NCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championship in the high jump.
On the strength of a new school record and a third Ivy League title in the event, Whitehorn punched her ticket to Nationals in Birmingham, Alabama, on Mar. 11-12.
The senior cleared 6-0.5/1.84m on her third attempt at the height Sunday at Cornell's Barton Hall to not only win her third Heps indoor crown in the event and best her own previous school record of 1.80m set last season, but also moved her into 12th nationally this season.
By finishing in the top-16 during the reporting period of the indoor season, Whitehorn earned the right to represent Dartmouth at NCAAs. For the New York native, this marks the second trip to Nationals after also going in the high jump during last spring's outdoor campaign.
