JACKSON, N.J. – The Dartmouth men's golf finished second at the 2016 Ivy League Men's Golf Championship, just four strokes behind champion Harvard at Metedeconk National Golf Club on Sunday.
The Crimson took home their first title since 1975, while Cornell's Luke Graboyes took individual medalist honors with a combined three-round score of 221, just one stroke ahead of the Big Green's Ian Kelsey. Kelsey shot a 73 on Sunday which contributed to the sophomore's overall score of 222.
As a team, Dartmouth finished with a combined 911 (+47), while Harvard's 907 (+43) was enough to win the title. Yale finished third 919 (+55), while Cornell and Columbia rounded out the top five.
After leading the field after round one on Friday, Kelsey remained in the top 10 in round two. His three birdies and 11 pars helped propel the Deerfield, Illinois native to second overall at the par-72 course.
Senior Charles Cai also finished in the top 10 with a ninth place finish after he shot a 78. Cai shot a 38 on the front nine, parring holes six through nine. Junior Scott Jaster had his best round of the tournament with a 72, finishing in a three-way tie for 14th. Jaster's day was highlighted by a birdie on the par-5 sixth hole and a birdie on the par-four 13th.
Freshman John Lazor shot an 81 for a 17th place finish, while teammate Sean Fahey turned in his best round with a 78 to finish in a four-way tie for 34th.
