BOSTON – The Dartmouth women's indoor track & field team kicked off the weekend with Friday's BU Terrier Classic.
Held at Boston University's Track & Tennis Center, the non-scoring meet gives Big Green individuals an opportunity to set quality marks against quality competition from around the region.
Highlights from the meet included senior Helen Schlachtenhaufen running a 4:42.72 in the mile, the fourth-best time in program history, and Julia Valenti clearing 12-5.5/3.80m in the pole vault, tying for the third-best mark on the all-time list.
Dartmouth also got an impressive showing in the 1000m. Bridget Flynn was the top collegiate runner, taking third overall in 2:48.77, while Eliza Dekker was fourth (2:50.92) and Margaret Tuthill (2:51.98) claimed sixth.
The Big Green's Claire Dougherty finished 10th in the 800m in 2:10.22, leading a trio of Dartmouth runners with Bridget O'Neill (2:10.36) and Abby Livingston (2:10.57) taking the next two spots, respectively.
Nicole Deblasio took 10th in the 200m, crossing in 24.83 in a field of 158 competitors.
Katy Sprout was 21st in the 400m in 57.87, while Annalisa Crowe was 16th in the 500m, finishing in 1:18.28.
