The Dartmouth men's soccer team travels to Penn for a weekend matchup at 7 p.m.
SCOUTING THE QUAKERS
Penn enters the matchup with a 2-7-1 record and no wins in Ivy play. Sitting in seventh place in the conference, Penn has allowed more goals than any other team in the league. Leading the offense is senior Joe Swenson with three goals and senior Sam Wancowicz with two assists. Scott Forbes and Etan Mabourakh have split time in the net, recording a total of 35 saves and a .648 save percentage.
LAST TIME AGAINST PENN
In October of 2016, the Big Green took down the Quakers at home 4-1, with goals from Noah Paravicini, Wyatt Omsberg and former Dartmouth players Emmanuel Arteaga and Jonathan Nierenberg. Penn holds the series lead, 32-23-9.
LAST TIME OUT
Dartmouth is coming off a tie against Yale last weekend. Junior Eduvie Ikoba scored both goals for the Big Green and the defense held strong, but the Bulldogs were able to tie it up. After going into two overtime periods, neither team was able to score again, ending the game in a draw.
LEADING THE WAY
Seniors Matt Danilack, Tyler Dowse and Wyatt Omsberg are captains for Dartmouth and also leading the offense with a combined seven goals and six assists.
STARTING ON THE RIGHT FOOT
Freshmen players for the Green and White are making their mark this season. Dawson McCartney, Tiger Graham, Jordan McNair and Matt Ranieri have contributed a total three goals and four assists.
BETWEEN THE PIPES
Keeper Christopher Palacios leads the league in shutouts with five and is second in goals against average with .44. The freshman has played 809 minutes in the net, with 11 saves and .733 save percentage.
