MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Dartmouth men's tennis concluded its fall season on day three of the Gopher Invitational on Sunday.
Throughout the weekend, freshman Gilbert Jaeger went 4-0 in singles, while classmates John Speicher, Peter Conklin and Casey Ross were all 3-1. In doubles play, sophomore David Horneffer and Roko Glasnovic had a 3-1 record.
The Big Green won two doubles matches on the last day of the invite. Horneffer and Glasnovic had a 6-3 win over a pair from Minnesota, while Jaeger and Speicher paired up to take down a duo from Utah, 6-4.
Dartmouth took four of its six singles matches. Conklin was leading Minnesota's Justyn Levin, 5-2, in the first set when the match was retired and the Green freshman was awarded the win, while Ross had a 7-5, 7-5 victory over Vlad Lobak of Minnesota. Speicher and Jaeger both faced players from Utah and walked away with wins. Speicher had a 6-4, 7-5 win over Santiago Sierra, while Jaeger had a 7-6, 6-3 victory over his opponent.
At the Connecticut State Championship, senior Paul Midgley defeated Yale's Dylan King, 6-2, 6-7, (10-7).
The Big Green will return to action in January with dual matches.
