vs Dartmouth Invite #1

3/31/2017 9:17:00 AM | Men's Tennis
HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth men's tennis will open Ivy League play over the weekend, hosting Harvard at 2 p.m. on Sunday. The match was scheduled to be played on Saturday afternoon, but was pushed back a day due to the impending storm.
The Big Green enter the final month of the regular season with a record of 7-10. They are just coming off a five-match Spring Break trip through Texas and Louisiana, returning to Hanover with a record of 2-3. Dartmouth's wins came in the form of a 4-3 thriller over the SEC's LSU and a 4-2 defeat of No. 46 South Alabama.
On that trip, Dartmouth's doubles teams excelled: the pairing of senior George Wall and freshman David Horneffer at the No. 2 position and junior Max Fliegner and freshman Charlie Broom at the No. 3 spot went undefeated through their five matches.
The Crimson have had a good start to 2017 are currently 12-8 on the season. Harvard enters Saturday's match on a three-match winning streak following wins over Louisiana (7-0), Buffalo (4-3) and Amherst (4-3). The Big Green and the Crimson have faced a few of the same opponents this season – Memphis, Boston University, Iowa, Bryant – and had very similar results.
Dartmouth and Harvard last met in the regular-season finale on April 23, 2016. For the second year in a row and just the second time in over 20 years, the Big Green defeated the Crimson, walking away with a 4-1 victory to finish second in the conference.
Next Friday, April 7, Dartmouth will host Yale at 3 p.m.
